Our first workshop
The first workshop for COST Action 20131 entitled “Efficient Justice for All” was held on May 3 and 4 in Maastricht, the Netherlands. It was a hybrid workshop, with the physical workshop itself being combined with a Management Committee meeting held on Zoom.
Contents of the workshop
In the first of three workshops that we will host in that first year, we will establish the variables that drive our future work. The focus of this workshop will be on the economic analysis of production sets for courts. The workshop will be a hands-on experience, where four subgroups will produce a document that describes a part of the variables that are essential for understanding and modeling the production of courts.
The four subgroups will focus on (i) the inputs of a court, (ii) the outputs of a court, (iii) exogenous, environmental variables, (iv) endogenous, managerial variables. During the workshop, we will collect the information gathered from a questionnaire sent to all COST Action members, discuss existing data and prioritize missing data. As a result, this first workshop, we especially need experience with measurement issues (noise, measurement error, omitted variable bias, etc.) and quantification.
